Additional Voluntary Contributions (AVCs)

The Department for Education use Prudential as their provider for Additional Voluntary Contributions (AVC), which means you can pay contributions direct from your gross pay, alongside your contributions to your teacher’s pension.

Contacting Teachers’ Pensions - Update

With the membership of the Teachers’ Pension Scheme now reaching two million, we’ve seen a significant increase in the number of members contacting us either via our contact centre or by email. This means that some members may have regrettably experienced difficulties when trying to get in touch with us recently.

We’re always reviewing your feedback to see how we can improve your experience with us. Some members have let us know that they’d have found registering for MPO easier if they hadn’t needed their Teachers’ Pensions reference number.

Allowing ‘Voluntary’ Scheme Pays elections in respect of the 2016/17 tax year and beyond

Teachers’ Pensions have been working with the Department for Education to introduce an option for members of the Teachers’ Pension Scheme who become subject to an Annual Allowance tax charge.
