Summer is our busiest time for retirement applications, as many of your employees get ready to start their retirement journey in September. As an employer, you play a key in role in making sure the process runs smoothly. 

Please can you ensure that your service and salary submissions are correct as this is fundamental to helping us calculate retirement quotes and processing applications accurately, reducing recalculation and overpayment situations. 

We ask that you also keep an eye on any tasks in the Employer Portal that you need to complete. This makes sure a member’s retirement application is sent through to us with enough time to process it before their planned retirement date. 

Due to the volume and complexity of cases (Transitional Protection members will be provided with their Remediable Service Statement (RSS), which is an extra step in their application). We advise you to encourage your staff who are thinking of retiring in December to submit their retirement application as soon as possible.
