The administrator for the Teachers’ Pension Scheme is changing – what’s new?

We’re entering a new chapter for Teachers’ Pensions – one that will continue to be shaped by feedback from employers, payroll providers and members. Following a comprehensive procurement process, the Department for Education appointed Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) as the new administrator of the Scheme. TCS brings extensive experience in pensions and benefits delivery, and a strong track record of supporting public sector clients at scale.

The transition to TCS will take place in Summer 2026.

What this means for you

TCS will be introducing a new Employer Portal for you to manage your pension responsibilities. They’ve involved some of you in the design process through collaborative feedback sessions and will share updates and walkthroughs before anything changes.

Crucially, your existing Monthly Data Collection (MDC) and Monthly Contributions Reconciliation (MCR) submission templates will stay the same – so you won’t need to rebuild your current processes.

This change is all about improving the long-term service delivery. To help us communicate effectively with you, please ensure all your contact details are up to date on the Employer Portal and look out for more updates and information coming soon via our usual communication channels, including timelines, resources and how you can get involved.

If you have any questions about this message or the transition to TCS, you can send these to TCS at employerquery@teacherscorp.com. Please note TCS is unable to respond to individual enquiries at this time. However, they’ll collate your emails to develop frequently asked questions and updates at the Teachers’ Pensions Action Forum (TPAF). Please don’t share any personally identifiable information. For all service-related enquires you can contact us in the usual way.
