The administration of the Teachers’ Pension Scheme will be moving to Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in Summer 2026.
 
In preparation for this change and to help in the transition of the data from one administrator to another, there’ll be a pause in on-boarding to MCR from February 2026. This is important in order to:

• Provide a clean break in data provisions for the transfer of data to TCS
• Prevent on-boarding employers for a very short period of time to enable TCS to introduce their own MCR solution. While TCS's template will require similar information to that which is provided already, it will be through their systems.

What happens if I have already elected to on-board to MCR from February’s service data?
 

You’ll no longer be on-boarding unless you’re:

• moving to a payroll provider that only produces MCR
• joining a MAT that has already on-boarded to MCR
• already committed to a software solution and are working to transfer your MCR submission for February 2026 service data onwards.

Will I be able to remain on MDC when the administration moves to TCS?
 
You’ll initially be able to remain on MDC, but TCS will be aiming to move all employers to MCR.
 
When can I book a new on-boarding date?
 
You’ll need to book this with TCS after the transition date.
