If you’ve applied for retirement starting in September, we’re currently processing it in time for 1 September. If you have a lump sum due this will be payable on the first working day which is 2 September 2019. Your monthly pension payment will be made on the day before your birthday. For example, if you were born on the 7th of the month, your pension will be paid on the 6th of each month.

We’ll let you know when your award papers are ready but please be aware, you may not receive these until the day before your benefits are due to be paid. This is normal and you should not be concerned.

You can also view the latest status of your application via the task tracker on My Pension Online (MPO) but again don’t be worried if this doesn’t progress regularly.
