We’re aware of a financial podcast which recently discussed family benefit rules of deceased members. One of the points highlighted was that some defined benefit pension schemes reduce spousal benefits if the age gap between the couple is over ten years.

We can confirm that this isn’t the case with the Teachers’ Pension Scheme.
