Timeline for sending out Remediable Service Statements (RSS)

We appreciate your patience as we continue to work on the Remediable Service Statements for members impacted by Transitional Protection. We recognise that waiting for your statement can be frustrating, and we are sorry for any inconvenience or upset this may have caused.

We’re processing these as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, several factors, some of which are beyond our control, are influencing the timeline. These include technical dependencies, regulatory requirements, and coordination with external partners. As a result, we’re currently unable to confirm specific completion dates.

To help explain the delays, we’ve published a factsheet (PDF, 2 MB) (This link opens in a new window) that outlines why some RSSs are more complex than others. For example, members may fall into different categories, such as protected, unprotected, or tapered, each requiring complex calculations across the final salary and career average schemes. Tapered members in particular need benefit comparisons under both schemes, which adds significant complexity.

Individual circumstances also play a role. Factors such as Early Retirement, breaks in service, overtime, Phased Retirement, transfers and pension sharing orders all influence how benefits are calculated. This means that each RSS must be tailored to the members’ specific history and scheme rules.

Please keep checking our website for the latest information.
