Reflecting the diversity of today’s teaching profession

The Department for Education has launched a new case study series on its Teaching blog (This link opens in a new window) and Teach in FE (This link opens in a new window) website. Running until June 2026, the series shares powerful, personal stories from educators working across schools and further education.

Through honest reflections and practical insights, participants explore topics such as career progression, retention and wellbeing. The case studies celebrate successes, confront challenges and offer practical learning drawn from real journeys through the profession.

By amplifying these voices, the series aims to inspire those already working in education, support the sharing of meaningful best practice, and encourage others to join a profession that needs and values them.

The Department for Education is committed to building a diverse and representative workforce where everyone feels they belong. These case studies show what that can look like in practice.
