  • Where is the Scheme Arrangement report located?

    The Scheme Arrangement Report will be in CSV format, and will only be accessible from the Teachers’ Pension Scheme Employer Portal, in the Scheme Arrangement Notification area of the Employer Portal.

    To download the file please login to the Employer Portal, go to the ‘Download a File (STU)’ section, and under ‘Categories’ select ‘Scheme Arrangement Notification’.  Please look at the most recently available report for the latest version.

  • Why is my employee not showing on the report?

    The main reasons that an employee is not showing on the report are:-

    • No information has been received by Teachers’ Pensions regarding the new member.  Therefore a TR6 form would need to be completed
    • There is a known issue with the All Members report which impacts on the information provided.  The report only looks at the latest line of service for a member and does not check for any previous lines of service with another employer.  This is currently being reviewed and will be amended in the Monthly Changes report and the All Members report.

  • What if I cant find one of my employees in the report?

    It is recommended that initially you run a member print to check if Teachers’ Pensions has any record of your employee – the member print will indicate the Scheme Arrangement of the member.  If there is no record, then a TR6 will need to be completed.

  • What if I think that information in the report is incorrect?

    Inform us of your query by contacting the Employer Team.

  • What is Career Average?

    The main features of the career average arrangement are:

    • A pension based on career average design;
    • A member’s Normal Pension Age is equal to their state pension age or 65 whichever is the later date;
    • An accrual rate of 1/57th of each year’s pensionable earnings;
    • Annual revaluation for active members using a rate provided by HM Treasury plus 1.6%;
    • Annual revaluation for leavers using a rate provided by HM Treasury;
    • New flexibilities allowing members to purchase a faster accrual rate or to buy out the standard reduction applied to members taking benefits early;
    • Benefits accrued prior to transition to the new scheme arrangement will be protected and remain in final salary.

  • What is Protected Service?

    Where a member was an active scheme member immediately before 1 April 2012 and was within 10 years of their Normal Pension Age they continue to be in the final salary arrangement and their service is protected. These are referred to as Protected Members.

  • What is Tapered Protection?

    Where a member was an active scheme member immediately before the 1 of April 2012 and, was more than 10 years but less than 13.5 years away from their Normal Pension Age, they remain in the final salary arrangement beyond 1 April 2015 and enter the career average arrangement at individual dates.. These members are known as tapered members until they pass their transition date, the date they move into the career average arrangement.

  • What is the format and fields of the Scheme Arrangements and Monthly Report?
