Monthly Data Collection (MDC) update

As MDC is now available for all employers and with many taking up the opportunity, here’s your monthly update.

MDC update for onboarding

As you know, from April 2016 Monthly Data Collection (MDC) will be open for all employers to join. The response from employers has been fantastic, with April already full and May filling up fast.

If you don’t already know, MDC is a replacement for the Annual Service Return that requires less data and removes the need for many of the forms you have to send us today. It also saves you time and provides more up to date information for your members.

More information can be found here.

To get involved complete the delegation form (This link opens in a new window) and return it to MDC@teacherspensions.co.uk (This link opens in a new window), ensuring you provide all details requested within the document. You don’t have to start in May as employers will be on-boarding every month, but the sooner you get involved the better chance you have of securing the start date you want.

Completed forms can then be returned to Teachers’ Pensions to MDC@teacherspensions.co.uk (This link opens in a new window).

If you’re currently using MDC Teachers’ Pensions are very keen to gather your feedback.  It would be appreciated if you take 5 minutes to complete our survey (This link opens in a new window). Your feedback can then be used to help other employers as they start to use MDC.

MDC – guidance notes updated on website

Please be aware, updated MDC Guidance Notes have been added to the Teachers’ Pensions website here. The notes now cover the new changes to the tax year, as a result of Annual Allowance and the new compulsory requirement for completing a member’s email address field.

MDC – in relation to Certificate of Re-employment

Development is now underway to negate the need to complete a Certificate of Re-employment for your staff if you participate with Monthly Data Collection. We’ll shortly be contacting all employers currently ‘Live’ with MDC to advise them of the change and when this can be used from. It should be noted, that once ‘Live’, any existing Certificates of Employment remaining within your task manager must still be completed.
