Reminder - Certificate of Re-employment

For employers not using MDC, it’s important that we receive a completed Certificate of Re-employment for those employees who have remained in or returned to pensionable employment after taking Age or Premature retirement.  This is a separate exercise which is required in addition to service and salary information for the Annual Service Return.

For full-time and regular part-time members where the salary is known we require the Certificate of Re-employment from the start of the Scheme financial year or as soon as a member returns to employment. If there is a change in circumstances i.e. pay rise /pay decrease or the salary information is different to the information provided on the Certificate of Re-employment, we’ll require a new certificate completing.  For part-time irregular members where their earnings are not known until the end of the year, these need to be sent in as soon as possible at the start of the next financial year.

If we’ve not received a certificate for 2015/16 please can you complete and return this as soon as possible as this impacts on the member as their pension will be suspended as we’re not able to determine if they’ve exceeded their earnings limit.
