Local Government Association (LGA) conferences in London and York

Next month will see the return of the ‘LGA Annual Teachers’ Pensions Conference’ in both York and London. These will be held on 10th October at the National Railway Museum in York and 17th October at Layden House in London and are open to all employers to attend.

The day runs from 9.45am – 4.00pm with the following confirmed to be covered

  • Registration and refreshments (9.45am- 10.30am)
  • Chair’s welcome
    Topical update from Department for Education (10.35am – 11.10am)
  • Workshops covering Demystifying entitlements to retirement benefits, ’My Pension Online’ experience  and Monthly Data Collection (11.10am-12.10pm and 14.50pm – 15.50pm)
  • GDPR – are you ready for the 2018 data protection changes (12.10pm – 12.40pm)
  • Teachers’ Pensions Policy Team – current issues affecting the Scheme (1.35pm- 2.05pm)
  • Exit Payments (2.05pm – 2.20pm)
  • Employer Compliance (2.20pm – 2.50pm)
  • Feedback from workshops (3.50pm – 4.00pm)

The conference will also include talks from both representatives of the Department for Education and the Teachers’ Pension Scheme.

With lunch and refreshments being provided, it promises to be an informative and interesting day for all who take part.
