We’ve recently received a number of queries about the amount of service that members can accrue. The maximum number of years of service that can be accrued in the Final Salary arrangement is 45 years. There is no limit on the length of service in the Career Average arrangement, as benefits are calculated based on the pension accrual in the year rather than by reference to the number of years of service. However, please note that in either arrangement the accrual of pension benefits can only be from the age of 16 up to a members 75th birthday.
