The importance of accuracy when submitting member files

We’d like to ask you to take great care in checking member’s personal information when submitting your monthly returns. Inaccurate or outdated details are resulting in member queries.

When updating records, it’s important to consider the following:

  • Use full names rather than initials
  • Ensure that names contain the correct characters e.g. “O’Brien” or “Smith-Jones"
  • Check that the postal and email addresses you hold on file are the most up to date versions
  • Avoid completing fields with “As above” as this information can’t be used

When creating new records, the Member Search facility can also be used to check if details match current members, which can also help avoid the creation of duplicate records.
