We continue to work hard developing and creating a service that meets the needs of employers, as well as ensuring the integrity of member data. As part of these continual improvements to the Employer portal we’ve made the following updates which will become effective 2 September:

Enhancement to Data Responsibilities Statement and new Employer T&C's

When logging into the Employer Portal you’ll now need to tick a box to confirm that you agree to the Terms & Conditions which are available as a drop down option on the Data Responsibilities Statement.

Employer Portal session time increase

We’ve previously informed you that development was underway to extend the session time on the Employer Portal, allowing you additional time to carry out administrative duties without being logged out.

The development for this has now been completed and the improved limit sees the original session time of 20 minutes being increased to 40 minutes.

Change Teacher details

We’re making a change to how you update member details within the Employer Portal. The process will remain the same, however, the only way you’ll be able to update member details will be by clicking on the Member Search page and using the ‘edit’ button in the top right hand corner of the page. We’ll also be removing the Change Member Details page within Member Search.

In addition to the change above, we’re creating an advisory message when viewing or updating member data within the Member Search section.

There’ll also be an additional member validation check when updating a National Insurance number which will help to ensure that the correct record is being updated.

The removal of access to deceased member records after a specified amount of time

Searches carried out on deceased members will be restricted after period of time. If a deceased member has been searched for, a message will advise you to contact us if you require any information on the deceased member.

The timeframes for these are:

• Pensioner Death - 3 months from the date we’ve officially been informed of the death
• Teacher Death - 6 months from the date we’ve officially been informed of the death
