Retirement application cut-off date

As you can imagine, September is the most popular time of year for members to retire and take their pension.

In order to guarantee that payments are made at the beginning of September, we need to receive applications by no later than 6 August.

To help speed up the process, we recommend that applications are completed either as digital PDFs or via My Pension Online where possible.

We’ll be in touch with members who’ve submitted an application to let them know it’s being processed, so there’s no need to contact us to check. We’ll only be able to provide accurate details of a member’s pension once all relevant checks have been made, which is usually nearer to the payable date of the award.
