Retirement applications

We’re soon approaching September, which is the most popular time of the year for members to retire and take their pension. This is a gentle reminder that once members have submitted their retirement application, we’ll be in touch with them so there’s no need to contact us to check the status of their request.

We’ll only be able to provide accurate details of a member’s pension once all relevant checks have been made, which is usually nearer to the payable date of the award.

Please bear in mind that repeated contact regarding a member’s application may slow down the application process. If you receive similar queries from members, we advise that you relay this message.

We’d also like to highlight that the information you provide to us on service and salary for your employees is the basis from which we do all retirement calculations. Getting it right the first time is key, not just for them, but for yourselves and us. It’ll help to avoid any extra work or stress in the future.
