If your establishment is part of a Multi Academy Trust (MAT), it’s important your service submission, MDC or MCR and payments are to be sent in one of the following ways listed below.

Method One - MAT submission:

• Data for your academies and centralised staff is supplied on one single file under the 751 number
• ONE payment is made under the 751 number that matches your MCR or contribution breakdown
• Each row of data must contain the LA and Establishment number of the academy where the member is employed
• Only centrally employed staff, such as an Executive Head or supply, will hold an LA and Establishment number of the MAT (i.e. 751/xxxx).

Method Two - Academy submission:

• Each academy within the MAT submits its own files and matching payment
• Any centralised staff will be provided on a separate file. For example, if a MAT has five academies and also employs central staff, we’ll expect six submissions (five for the academies and one for the centralised staff)
• Six payments should be made, one for each submission
• Multiple establishments cannot be combined under one LA/Establishment.

If you don’t follow one of these methods, it will also affect your EOYC and annual audit.

If separate payments or submissions are sent, we’ll not be able to class this as a MAT submission and you’ll be expected to produce a separate EOYC. Please ensure from April 2023 that your trust is set up correctly.
