We just want to remind you that the Department for Education (DfE) launched its consultation on the retrospective remedy on 27 March 2023.

This is to address the discrimination that was identified in the Transitional Protection arrangements in the 2015 reforms to the Teachers’ Pension Scheme and other public service pension schemes.

The consultation sets out how the DfE proposes to implement the remedy approach confirmed by HMT in 2021 and how the process will work for those affected. You can view the consultation on the Gov.UK website. (This link opens in a new window)

This consultation will close 4 June 2023. Any responses should be submitted to the consultation portal, and not to Teachers’ Pensions.

Once the consultation has closed, the DfE will consider all feedback before publishing its response.
