We’d like to stress the importance of ensuring your MCR submissions reflect what has appeared in your payroll system.

When a warning error occurs on your MCR file indicating contributions may be incorrect, you should submit your file with the warning error(s).

Once you’ve submitted your file, you’ll then be able to make the amendment in the payroll system the following month. To do this, you’ll need to submit an ‘update line’ within the MCR submission with the case number from the error report.

The payment you make to us must match the MCR file you submit. If you make amendments to your MCR file without correcting anything in your payroll system, the payments will not align and therefore nullify your submission that month.
