Retirement applications

We wanted to remind you that if your employees are wanting to take retirement in September, they should be applying for it now. This is especially important for those who are affected by Transitional Protection, as it allows sufficient time for them to receive and make their choices.

To prevent the hold up of retirement applications, complete your section as soon as you receive them. We can’t pay any benefits to members until you’ve completed your section of the form. 

You’ll need to ensure that when completing the form, you split any data for the month of April over two lines, one covering 1-5 April and the other covering 6-30 April.

If your employee works for a Multi Academy Trust and works at more than one establishment within the trust, please remind them that they need to complete a retirement application for each employer even if they’re within the same trust, if they plan on leaving all pensionable employment.
