To follow up on last month’s update, we just want to remind you that the Government is continuing to work through the detail of their proposals to address the discrimination caused by the transitional protection arrangements contained within the main public service pensions schemes, including teachers.

The detailed proposals will form a public consultation later this year. The consultation will provide you with the opportunity to provide your feedback on the Government’s proposals. We will advise you of the dates of the consultation as soon as we have them.

The key message you could provide to your employees is that their pension entitlements are safe and the government changes will apply to all affected members of the Scheme. This means members don’t need to make a claim in order for the eventual changes to apply to them.
