Monthly Data Collection full checklist

We previously informed you about the Monthly Data Collection (MDC) Full Checklist in June, when we provided you with guidance on how to complete it when it arrives.

The results from the pilot release are positive and we’re beginning to see a reduction to the gaps in service outstanding between the periods 01/04/2014 to 31/12/2019.

The feedback we’ve received from employers in the pilot group has been encouraging and the MDC Full Checklist has been well received.

We’ll begin to send these reports to some employers from the start of November but, as we have a large number of employers, please don’t be concerned if you don’t receive yours for some time.

The MDC Full Checklist is a one-off exercise and separate from the normal monthly MDC Checklist you receive after submitting your MDC file.

You’ll be given three months to complete this exercise, but we recognise that not everyone will be able to meet this timescale. We suggest that you look through the file when you receive it, then let us know if you can’t complete it by the given deadline and tell us how long you think it’ll take you. We can then update the reminder process accordingly.

The reminder process will work as follows;

  • 1st reminder – Issued 7 calendar day after we send you the file, to make sure you know it’s there and what’s expected
  • 2nd reminder – Issued 56 calendar days before the ‘end date’ – this will be three months after we sent the file, or your chosen date if you told us it’ll take you longer
  • 3rd reminder – Issued 28 calendar days before the ‘end date’
  • Final automated check – Undertaken on the ‘end date’

Once completed, we’ll then send you a notification to confirm that all the service lines we highlighted have been received.
