Alan Taylor


Alan Taylor

Alan has been a banker and a management consultant.

He founded his own consulting company in 1993, and completed projects for many financial organisations, covering areas such as business strategy, outsourcing, product development, and pricing. He moved to Hong Kong in 2001, where he was involved in the pension fund sector, and co-authored three books in this field. He co-founded a business analysing fund performance, fees and cash flows, which was sold in 2017.

He also worked on projects sponsored by international agencies such as Asian Development Bank and World Bank. These involved advising on the development of bond markets, housing finance, migrant remittances, and financial infrastructure, in many developing economies in Southeast Asia and in the Central Asian republics.

In 2018, he was appointed an independent director of Manulife Provident Funds Trust Company in Hong Kong. He has a degree in Mathematics and Philosophy from Oxford University, is a Chartered Management Accountant, and a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Directors.

Originally from London, Alan now lives in York with his wife (a teaching assistant) and two children. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking and mountaineering.
