Annual Benefit Statements (ABS)– Understanding your statement and contribution rate

Annual Benefit Statement’s which contain an estimate of your service and salary details up to 31 March 2014 have started to be distributed to your employers. We’re required to send these by 31 March 2015, so if you haven’t received yours by the middle of April please ask your employer for further information.

The ABS is an important document as it’s vital you understand the value of your pension and the benefits you’re entitled to. The data is sent via your employer and is accurate to the best of our knowledge. If you identify any errors please contact the relevant employer to check their records and ask them to notify us of any changes. Please note you won’t receive a statement if:

  • You’re re-employed
  • In your first two years of teaching
  • Currently in mixed service.

Please contact us on 08456 066 166 or email tpmail@teacherspensions.co.uk (This link opens in a new window) if you fall into one of these groups and would like more information.

This is the last year you’ll receive a paper ABS, so if you haven’t already, please sign up to My Pension Online (MPO), the online PIN protected portal that lets you check and manage your personal pension information online. You can complete a range of tasks including updating their personal details and completing online forms. Sign up quickly and easily by visiting our website here.
