Early retirement for deferred members

If you’re a deferred member and have left all employment that is pensionable in the Teachers' Pension Scheme then, as long as you’re at least 55 you don’t have to wait until your Normal Pension Age (NPA) to take your benefits. If you do choose to take your benefits early they will be reduced in line with actuarial factors, as your pension is likely to be in payment for longer than if you waited until your NPA to take it.
