Students still need you

Students still need you and your expertise. The last couple of years have been a tough test for young people, and current and former teachers like you have helped them get through it. Now they need you again – as an examiner.

As an examiner, you’ll be part of a team that ensures students receive the results they deserve. And you stand to benefit from the experience as well. Examining will give you:
  • an opportunity to reinvigorate your love of your subject
  • a chance to network and stay in touch with other subject experts
  • an insight into the latest approaches to how your subject is assessed
All this and you’ll also earn some extra income for approximately three weeks of work.

Further information about the role of examining can be found on the JCQ Become an Examiner webpages (This link opens in a new window). For specific information about the required roles and criteria to examine for each examination board, refer directly to their dedicated webpages - these can be accessed via the quick links on the JCQ Become an Examiner (This link opens in a new window) webpage.

Apply today so you can help students get the results they are working hard to achieve.

It’s important to note that the role of an examiner, particularly if this is the only role you’re performing, is not likely to be pensionable under the Teachers’ Pension Scheme and will therefore not count towards your pension. This is subject to change depending on your circumstances.
