Employers linked to a Multi Academy Trust

Answer:
This depends on the individual member's contract of employment. If the centralised staff such as executive head or supply staff have a contract of employment with the MAT itself to teach at each of the academies including the MAT, then this service can be recorded using the MAT’s 751 LA/Estab number.
If the member has multiple contracts of employment for each of the academies and/or MAT, then each employment will needs to be recorded separately with the relevant employer.

Answer:
Currently for EOYC, you're required to record the earnings and deductions for the employer/organisation as they have been provided on your monthly contribution breakdown form.
This won’t change for MCR.
So, if you change from making individual file submissions for the academies to a single MAT submission mid-year, you would need to record this information at an academy level up to your MAT submission change date and then at the MAT level from this date onwards.
For a full financial year where you've been providing MAT submissions for each month, this only needs to be provided at the MAT level.
-
Answer:
If you’re now going to report them under the MAT number, then yes, we’d require a ‘w’ against the establishment number.
