Making the payment

Yes, the MCR file needs to be accepted first so that we can confirm the amount to pay. Once accepted you’ll receive a notification in your new 'MCR data centre mailbox' on the Employer Portal and an accompanying email to notify you that this is available.

We don’t advise this is because there is a risk that the expected contribution payment in the confirmation notification won’t match the payment. For example; if a correction is made in the file after the payment has been made, this can lead to payment reconciliation issues.
